Paying For Kagi For About Two Years Now
It has been just a little over two years now since I have been a paying user of Kagi. I am still happy with it. I even pay a bit extra to use the A.I. stuff that they have added. That can be useful for a quick summary occasionally.
I can probably count on my two hands the number of times I have had to go to Google for something, unless it was for a specific reason. I like Google for maps and stuff like that.
Search self is where Google fell off the world. Kagi nearly always gives me what I want in the first couple of links. Hopefully, they can continue to do so with AI-generated spam. I have noticed that popping up here and there. The good news is the fact that I can lower those specific domains in the search results.
Sure, the search engine costs a bit of money, but using it has saved me countless hours of sifting through SEO spam and the ever increasingly difficult to tell apart from the search results paid stuff Google was including. I am sure I have said it here before, but I have said it to my girlfriend. I know by paying for it, I am the customer and not the product.
I even have the family account, and Molly uses their search now too. She doesn’t use the A.I., so I didn’t have to pay for that on her account. I find the A.I. stuff useful every so often. To me, it is a nice add-on.
