The Good Old Internet

Our electricity never goes out here. We rarely have a power outage, but this is the second time that has occurred in less than a year. Get your shit together PP&L. Actually, the transformer burned out last summer that serves our house. That was on the hottest day of the year. Not fun.

This time it was windy. It was very windy, and the wind was coming from an unusual direction. Other than a couple of warehouse types of buildings, there’s a big field in that direction with few trees. The maximum gust on my personal weather station was just under 40 miles an hour, but this long gust was far stronger than that. The house was vibrating from it, and it seemed as if it lasted forever. Unfortunately, the power went out, so my Ambient station didn’t record it. That’s okay, though.

I saw the flashes out behind us straight out the window. There were several flashes and loud electrical short sounds. I just happened to be walking into the bathroom. I saw it before I realized the power was out.

They got it repaired within a few hours. Naturally, the electricity came back on five minutes after we ordered pizza. I wanted the chicken, but the stove doesn’t work, although juice, and it was far too windy to use the grill. The pizza was good, though. Not Joy’s pizza, but was good by Two cousins’ standards.

Pizza is so hit or miss up here in Lancaster County. Back in the Philadelphia suburbs, you know what you were getting depending on which pizza place you ordered it. They were different from each other but consistent.
