First 70 Degree Day Of 2025
The winter was a mostly cold one this year once the cold moved in. There were a few mild periods, but nothing too major. We did not even have the February “heat wave” like we have sometimes been having recently.
The forecast today called for a high in the upper 60s, but that was a low bust. By midafternoon, the temperature had reached the lower 70s. I collected a decent amount of sunshine and vitamin D earlier today. Trying to avoid the sunburn later.
I even opened the bathroom window for a little while this morning. It was nice to get some of that fresh outside air in the house after the winter’s stale air. For a period this afternoon, the temperature actually peaked into the middle 70s! There has not been a cloud in the sky all day long.
Tomorrow looks to be a little cooler with a high in the 50s, but then it will be right back into the 60s. As much as I love the winter and the cold, and I really do enjoy it this time of the year, it is enjoyable that it’s starting to get warmer out. As an added bonus, my girlfriend will want to do outside things soon since she hates the cold.
The winter has been very dry. Between that dryness and the cold temperature, the grass was brown most of the season. There is finally some green starting to appear in the lawns. It is the wild onions growing. The trees are starting to get buds too!
