Back To Normal And An Easy Day Lifting

Yet another night of less than ideal sleep last night and I don’t know why. I fell asleep quickly then woke up an hour or two later and laid in bed wide awake for hours. Eventually I fell back to sleep and woke up feeling pretty good and shockingly well rested.

I drank my coffee and read some news on the computer and quickly finished it up. I got changed and did my strength earlier than normal, about 8:30 am so I could get it done while I was feeling good.

I started off my morning’s lifting with the back squats. These were a light to moderate weight of 220 pounds for three sets of five. The ended up feeling great and looking really pretty with nice deep and explosive ass to grass squats. I couldn’t begin to guess what’s changed but recently I’ve been squatting super deep without trying to. They felt good enough that I was going to go ahead and do the two extra sets but then I left common sense talk me out of it with having yet another day of poor rest and I’m sure poor recovery. I felt like I could have done it easily but that doesn’t mean I should have. I kept my rest between the warm up sets and the working sets at a minimum today to keep moving and I think that was the smart way to approach them today.

After finishing my back squats I moved onto the bench press. This was an easy day for me today. I had to do three sets of five at only 145 pounds. They felt great once I got the bench lined up right. The first set I was off center and the bench was slightly turned so it made the plates want to bump. Shit happens. I really wanted to do some extra sets but again with the sleep thing I talked myself out of it for today. Besides I want to start doing bro session again tomorrow.

Last but not least for today I had the good mornings for three sets of ten. I stuck with the 120 pounds again. These felt different today but in a good way. I don’t know what I was doing different but they just felt better. I pretty easily got through my three sets of ten then put my shit away.

It ended up being a really good day for me in the garage. Sure the weights were all easy but feeling run down I expected otherwise. It really felt great to get back on my morning schedule after the paSt couple of sessions having things prevent that.

I tried to take a nap with no luck. I did sort of zone out a bit with the TV on.
